How long have you been in business?
CCL came to NYC in 1979. The group is now performing in its 36th season.
What is your primary product or service?
We do our highly acclaimed improv shows every Friday and Saturday night at the Jan Hus Playhouse. In addition, CCL teaches top-notch improv classes, including our popular Improv4Business class, and teen summer workshops. Our National Touring Company performs at regional theaters and universities throughout the world.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was working for an ad agency (DDB) in Chicago. Presentations were a big part of the job, and I decided to take classes at The Second City to sharpen those skills. The founders of CCL met there and the rest, as they say, is history.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
More than other Improv centers, we focus on acting skills, production values and creating instant relationships on stage. Our extensive experience with businesses has provided us with a unique perspective on how to use improv skills to help people in business become better listeners, unlock creativity and enhance presentation and brainstorming skills.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We perform at the Jan Hus Theater on E. 74 St. Our work -- touring and classes -- takes us to all sorts of locations in and out of the US.

Shows are Fri. at 8, Sat. at 8 & 10. Office hours are Mon. - Fri. from 10 am to 5 pm.

Our show is smart and funny.
